From Good to Great...

Good is the Enemy of Great.

Yep, that’s what the book said.

Apparently the reason we don’t experience “great” lives is because we have good lives. We don’t have great schools because we have good schools. We don’t have a great government because we have a good government. Etc

Although I haven’t gotten past the first few pages in the book, through much thought and observations of my own I must confess that for me I’ve come to accept, that Good is the enemy of Great.

With all due respect I believe that the reason for this is that for many good is quite simply good enough.

As grateful as I am for the countless blessings in my life, for me, and I suspect for many of you, good is not enough. Particularly when I have choice between good and great.

I want to have a great life, I want my children to have great lives, I would like everyone that I know that wants to have a great life, to have one.

So how do we go from good to great?

Here’s what I’ve been doing, first I applied two success strategies that I use and often share with clients:

  1. Focus on one item only.
  2. Know specifically what you want.

(These two elements are covered in the first two points). Then I followed a step-by-step process to attract the great to me.

Here you go:

  1. Choose an area of your life you want to experience greatness! For the remaining steps you will stay focused on this area only.

  2. Define Great. What is great for you? Write it down.

  3. How does greatness look and sound? How do you feel once you’ve achieved greatness? Write down your answers.

  4. How is it different from where you are now?

  5. Identify what you do to have the good results that you currently have.

  6. What can do differently to have great results? Write that down.

  7. Now start doing what it takes!

Complete this simple exercise, then repeat steps 2, 3, 6, and 7 every day by reading them out loud to yourself for 30 days and be prepared to accept greatness into your life!

For those that want even faster results do the exercise every day for seven consecutive days, and then read only 2,3,6, and 7 for the remaining 21days.
