"The only one you're kidding is yourself" We've heard this expression time and again and yet most of us really believe that we are 100% honest with ourselves.  For the most part, we can take an honest look at where we are and what we need to do to obtain the results we want.  It's when we get stuck that being honest becomes challenging. Many of us have noticed a "repeat pattern" in our life. Examples; always missing out on the promotion, always ending up with someone who cheats, never getting the raise you deserve, people taking advantage of your good nature. These types of situations where we need to recognize the "story" we're telling ourselves that got us stuck and is keeping us from the results we want, and it can be really tough to see.   Now you may have noticed with friends or co workers  that it is fairly easy to recognize their story. You probably also noticed that when you dare tell them that what they're telling you is just an excuse or a story, they defend it come hell or high water. and so do you.  Here's the kicker; the story which is limiting you the most is usually the one you're completely oblivious to.  You could benefit from an objective opinion. This can help.   Choose somebody that you know will speak from their heart (not their head and preferably not a spouse or partner). Ask them "What do you believe I say or do that is holding me back with."  When they tell you, accept it as their truth, thank them and go and think about it. No further questions are allowed, nothing - no "ok I just have like one question" NOTHING.  Got it?  Good. Here's a tip for you, if they start talking about themselves, more than you, they moved out of their heart and into their heads.  Listen carefully; find something of value that rings true for you and everything else they say throw out!
